Your first visit
We’ve listed a few tips here to help you know what to expect:
General:
- For our location click here
- For Parking/Public transit info click here
- Cancellation Policy: We respectfully require 24 hours notice for all cancellations to avoid the full-service charge.
- Late Arrivals: Late arrivals will change the starting time of your treatment, but not the ending time in order to respect the next scheduled client.
- Please arrive 15 minutes before your first appointment. We will have a consultation form for you to fill out and this gives you a little time to relax and have some water.
- If you arrive earlier than 15 minutes prior to your appointment, we may be in with clients. Make yourself comfortable, and we will be with you very soon.
- Try not to drink a lot of caffeine 1 hour before your appointment. It works as a diuretic, can increase feelings of anxiety and will make some treatments less comfortable.
Massage:
- Tell us your goals for the session. Whether you have a specific injury, area of tension, or you’re looking to unwind – let us know, we’ll tailor your massage to fit your needs.
- The amount you disrobe is entirely up to your comfort level. You will be covered at all times with a sheet and blankets.
- Orthopedic, Shiatsu and Reiki sessions are performed with the client clothed. Please wear/bring comfortable clothing to your session.
- Feel free to talk during your massage – you can ask questions, make requests regarding the temperature in the room, propping, music, or the level of pressure you are receiving.
- We have a hair dryer, water etc. for you after your massage session. Please let your therapist know if you do not want work done on your face/scalp prior to your session.
Facial Treatments:
- No special preparation is required, come with or without makeup – a thorough cleansing is a part of every treatment.
- Your hair will be wrapped, and/or covered during your treatment. While we do our best, your hair style will most likely get a bit mussed in the the process.
- For men – most find it more comfortable not to shave the day of a treatment, it lessens the chance of irritation.
- We are unable to schedule a facial treatment if you are experiencing any of the following:
- Sunburn
- Allergic reactions
- Fungal Conditions
- Cold Sore/”Fever Blister” breakout
Waxing:
- The use of Retin A™, Renova™ or other prescription strength resurfacers prohibits waxing.
- The use of Accutane™ within the the last 6 months prohibts waxing.
- Hair needs to be 1/4 inch long to be completely removed-coming in too soon after shaving gives an inconsistent result
- If scheduling waxing services the week before your period-be aware, it may be more painful.
- NO sun for 24 hours after waxing.
- For bikini waxing, we will give you paper panties to wear- this is to protect your own garments from wax, oil, etc.
- Sorry, no Brazilian Bikini waxing. We are happy to give a referral.
Nail Care:
- For pedicure clients, you may want to bring a pair of flip flops to wear after your appointment so your toe polish stays perfect!
- Sorry, no acrylics or gel nails.
Acupuncture:
- Try not to come hungry. Have a small snack before you come to your first appointment – you will be more comfortable.
- If you can, wear somewhat loose clothing. Tight clothing is harder to move out of the way and may bunch up uncomfortably when accessing your lower legs, forearms, neck or low back.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions prior to your appointment!
